Richard W. Mortell, Jr.
Dick Mortell maintains a varied practice in Northbrook, Illinois. He concentrates in litigation of Injury and Civil cases, along with Chancery matters, Divorce, Traffic/Criminal Defense and Real Estate.
Mr. Mortell has practiced in Illinois for more than 34 years, including extensive experience defending Auto, Premises and Construction cases for the Insurance Industry. He has also defended catastrophic injury suits for the transportation industry and their carriers. As such, he litigated over one hundred and fifty bench and jury trials along with many additional arbitrations, mediations and Alternative Dispute Resolution proceedings. His accurate, straightforward and practical approach has led to the favorable resolution of countless matters on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Mortell is a 1976 graduate of Spring Hill College (B.A. History) and received his J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, in 1981. He was admitted to practice in the state of Illinois and the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, in 1981. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and a past President of the North Suburban Bar Association. He and his wife, Cecilia, raised their family in Glenview, and still reside there.
